Overview

The Driver Manager is responsible for managing and directing an assigned group of company drivers and overseeing contractor relations. The role includes proactive communication to facilitate driver and company objectives, ensuring safety, training, performance metrics, maintenance, and pay are effectively managed.

• Salary Range: $56,000 – $80,000 per year

Job Duties & Responsibilities
  • Interview drivers to align job duties and expectations.
  • Maintain frequent communication to meet drivers’ expectations.
  • Approve and review driver pay for accuracy and ensure pay thresholds are met.
  • Discuss safety analytics with drivers.
  • Ensure Transflo scanning and all training certificates/expirations are current.
  • Manage driver OJT and onboarding checklist reviews.
  • Complete driver performance reviews.
  • Meet or exceed driver turnover ratio and budgeted driver count.
  • Monitor accuracy of driver profiles and schedules.
  • Report on Speak‑ups and People Element survey data.
  • Collaborate with HR and safety regional managers on corrective actions and compliance occurrences.
  • Perform other duties as assigned.
Education & Experience
  • Bachelor’s Degree preferred.
  • High school diploma or equivalent required.
  • Minimum 2 years of direct personnel management experience required.
  • Experience in bulk transportation preferred.
Skills & Competencies
  • Excellent interpersonal and verbal communication skills.
  • Management experience preferred.
  • Strong time management and organizational skills.
  • Ability to exercise independent judgement.
  • Ability to direct and manage employees and contractors.
  • Ability to follow established policies and procedures.
  • Knowledge of Federal DOT, OSHA, and EPA regulations.
  • Capable of working with interruptions and deadlines.
  • Effective interaction with internal and external customers.
Physical Demands & Working Conditions
  • Majority of time at the service center office and yard.
  • Flexibility in scheduled hours and days.
  • Occasional weekend work and non‑business hours availability.
  • Occasional travel to other service centers.
