Position Summary
A Driver‑CDL (B) is responsible for safely operating a collection truck and providing prompt, courteous, and complete waste removal services for customers. In addition, the driver ensures the vehicle is in compliance with the company’s safety standards prior to operation, adheres to all company, state, and federal regulations, and completes vehicle condition reports (VCRs) daily to address any vehicle defects promptly.
Responsibilities- Perform complete pre‑ and post‑operation inspections of the vehicle in accordance with company policy to ensure tire pressure, fluid levels, safety equipment, gauges, and controls are in proper working order.
- Report any safety issues on standard reports.
- Safely operate the heavy truck along the designated route to disposal sites, following route sheets and maps, and service each customer.
- Operate manual and/or automatic controls to lift and load refuse, operate the compactor, and dispose of collected material at the designated facility.
- Courteously interact with customers, dispatchers, and others daily to ensure all routes are serviced in a timely and professional manner.
- Identify unsatisfactory waste containers and tag them in accordance with departmental procedures.
- Continuously monitor waste for evidence of unacceptable waste.
- Clean the area around accidental waste spills, ensuring adherence to all applicable safety standards and policies.
- Continuously monitor vehicle condition to keep it operationally ready, minimizing downtime.
- Clean waste from the packer blade and truck body (where appropriate) on each disposal trip.
- Complete required route/productivity sheets, VCRs, and other reports as required.
- Maintain adherence to required productivity standards to ensure all customers are serviced efficiently.
- Follow all required safety policies and procedures.
- Actively participate in the company’s ReSOP program.
- Perform other job‑related duties as assigned.
- Class B or higher Commercial Driver’s license with air brakes endorsement.
- Good customer‑service skills to meet and exceed customer expectations; professional, courteous, and cooperative toward customers and co‑workers.
- Strong time‑management skills to complete responsibilities efficiently and safely.
- Ability to adhere to company policies, promote safety standards, and avoid inappropriate risks.
- Maintains pride in work and strives to achieve all goals.

Part‑time as needed, Evening and Night Shift. $30.80 per hour.
