Job Summary

The work of a Cargo Ramp Agent loads and unloads cargo on and off aircraft; the transporting of cargo between terminals and aircraft. Remaining cognizant of WFS staff, security contractors, and visitors’ activities and reporting security breaches, suspicious occurrences, or non‑compliance with the site security plan to managers or via the WFS whistle blower program. Comply with the WFS site security plan for the assigned warehouse.

This job is covered by a collective bargaining agreement.

Responsibilities
  • Load and unload aircraft cargo weighing up to 80 lbs and position loaded containers weighing up to 3,200 lbs on rollers with or to aircraft.
  • Transport cargo to and from aircraft, driving a 3,000 lb. vehicle and negotiating congested areas.
  • Read “off‑load” sheets to determine the destination of cargo.
  • Receive, deliver, and physically handle freight and company material, exporting at the designated express docks.
  • Complete forms and messages related to the performance of the designated functions.
  • Confront and question unauthorized personnel in secured areas, and report their presence to authorities as necessary.
  • Report to work on a regular and timely basis.
Qualifications
  • High school diploma, GED, or equivalent.
  • Must be at least 18 years of age.
  • Valid driver’s license.
  • Ability to work in a high‑noise level environment.
  • Ability to understand and react to verbal commands and safety warnings, with or without visual aids.
  • Ability to work rotating shifts including weekends, holidays, and days off.
Physical Requirements / Working Conditions
  • Ability to lift up to 80 lbs.
  • Ability to judge distances.
  • Ability to work in inclement weather.
