- Guide inbound and outbound airplanes to and from the gate.
- Transport, lift, load/unload, sort and transfer passenger baggage, cargo, and mail material in and out of aircraft bins, belt loaders, or baggage carts in a safe manner.
- Safeguard customer baggage, air cargo, and airmail from weather, loss, theft, damage, and/or destruction.
- Clean aircraft passenger cabins between flights and stock aircraft with needed supplies.
- Operate heavy equipment such as push‑back equipment and maintain visual contact with Wing Walkers to ensure the equipment is free of danger.
- Operate and/or drive motorized equipment—belt loaders, air‑start units, lift trucks, push‑back tugs, bag carts, lavatory carts, and deicers— or manually move luggage and cargo to tow planes between gates and refill water tanks and lavatories.
- Receive and record customer baggage, air freight, mail, and company materials as required.
- Pick up, deliver, and transport cargo and baggage to and from aircraft, including wheelchairs, strollers, live animals, and other vital property of passengers, and prepare related records.
- Complete paperwork and forms connected with work assignments pertaining to procedures and enter data into the company's information system as required.
- Follow company procedures and protocols to ensure we are always operating safely and responsibly.
- Complete all required training when notified by the company, airport governing authority, or customer.
- Be on time, prepared, and safe. Be willing to work flexible hours, including nights, weekends, and holidays.
- Take reasonable care for the health, wellbeing, safety, and security of oneself and others while at work.
- Cooperate with a manager or supervisor to comply with any legal requirements imposed on the company.
- Not intentionally or recklessly interfere with or misuse any equipment or materials provided by the company.
- Inform a manager or supervisor of any work situation, equipment, or activity that represents a serious or immediate danger.
- Report hazards, near misses, incidents, accidents, or dangerous occurrences to a manager or supervisor, who will follow the company and carrier safety and security procedures.
- Carry out work in accordance with information and training provided and any specific health, wellbeing, safety, and security rules or procedures.
- Fully understand AGI Health & Safety and Security policies.
- Attend training courses as required by AGI.
- Must be able to lift, carry, push, pull and move items 70 pounds (32 kg) or more regularly and lift items weighing 40–50 pounds on raised surfaces repetitively.
- Must be able to carry heavy items up and down narrow jetway stairs.
- Must be able to walk, climb, bend, kneel, crawl, and stoop frequently for extended periods.
- Must be able to work in cramped or high places.
- Must be able to be alerted to moving vehicles or aircraft and use radio equipment to communicate with crew and airport authorities.
- Must be able to work outside in all types of weather, around jet and machinery noises.
- Good Communication Skills – communicate information and instructions verbally and/or via radio equipment effectively and professionally with flight crew, gate agents, and other ground crew.
