Ocean Import Coordinator

Manage the end-to-end coordination of ocean import shipments, from booking confirmation through final delivery, ensuring timely and compliant movement of cargo.

Review and process import documentation including bills of lading, commercial invoices, packing lists, and certificates of origin to verify accuracy prior to customs filing.

Communicate proactively with overseas agents, steamship lines, and port authorities to track vessel arrivals, resolve exceptions, and manage container availability.

Coordinate customs clearance activities with the brokerage team, providing complete and accurate shipment data to facilitate timely entry filing and release.

Arrange inland transportation and last-mile delivery, negotiating rates and scheduling with trucking partners to meet client delivery windows.

Monitor demurrage and detention timelines, taking prompt action to minimize additional costs and communicating exposure to clients and internal stakeholders.

Build and maintain strong client relationships by providing proactive status updates, resolving issues quickly, and serving as a knowledgeable point of contact for all ocean import inquiries.
