Aircraft Fueler - O'Hare International Airport
Pay: $20.50 per hour. Full‑time, On‑site.
Role PurposeThe Aircraft Fueler is responsible for safely and efficiently fueling, defueling, and servicing aircraft at the airport. This role requires performing basic mathematical calculations to interpret aircraft weight and balance loading instructions for fueling. The Fueler must maintain a safe and secure work environment in compliance with local health, safety, and security policies.
Key Responsibilities- Perform fueling in a safe and efficient manner, operating fuel trucks, hydrant cards, and stationary carts.
- Accurately account for fuel transactions.
- Conduct daily quality‑control checks on equipment and keep equipment clean and functional.
- Ensure correct loading and balancing of fuel.
- Defuel aircraft as directed.
- Adhere to safety, security, and compliance requirements.
- Proficient reading, writing, and speaking in English.
- Basic math calculation skills.
- Ability to lift and move up to 70 lbs.
- Comfortable working outdoors in all weather conditions.
- Availability and flexibility to work variable shifts, including weekends and holidays.
- Pass pre‑employment medical and drug testing.
- Valid driver’s license in good standing (Class A license with hazmat and tanker endorsement for cargo fuelers).
- Pass driver’s test with the Department of Airports and obtain a license to drive on the Airport Operational Area (AOA).
- Pass FBI background check and obtain US Customs seal.
- Minimum age of 18 years.
- Prior experience in the Oil and Gas industry.
- Possession of a Commercial Driver’s License.
- Prior ramp experience.
High School diploma or equivalent.
