We re recruiting experienced CDL A drivers for a carrier partner offering regional routes with consistent weekly home time. This position provides the stability and work-life balance that professional drivers seek, with competitive weekly earnings of $1,350 to $1,550. Our Calumet City, IL branch is seeking a full-time CDL-A truck driver. This position is first shift, M - F, and hourly (no flat rate!). This is a union role through Local 150. The hourly compensation for this role is $37.00 per hour.

Responsibilities (examples):

• Timely delivery of equipment and basic upkeep of the truck
• Operate two types of trailers: beaver tail trailers and lowboy trailers
• Maintain daily trip logs
• Accurately complete paperwork
• Providing exceptional customer service
• Work and manage workloads independently
• Proper completion and submission of all required paperwork
• Incorporate Alta s Guiding Principles into daily activities
• Performs other duties as assigned

Skills and Qualifications:

• A minimum of 2 years of previous CDL-A truck driving experience is desired
• Experience with Lowboy trucks is required
• Commercial Driver s License (CDL) Class A with a clean driving record
• Must be able to drive stick shift
• Computer programs - HYPASS, Hyster TKC training software
• Language Skills
  - Intermediate: ability to read and interpret safety rules and manuals
• Mathematical Skills
  - Basic: able to do addition/subtraction and multiplications and divisions
• Reasoning Ability
  - Intermediate

Physical Demands/Work Environment:

• Regular standing and walking, use of hands; occasional climbing, kneeling, or crouching
• No special vision requirements
• Lift up to 10-25 pounds regularly; up to 100+ pounds occasionally
• Work near moving mechanical parts; exposure to fumes, weather; occasional extreme conditions
