Freight Forwarder

Salary: $55,000–$70,000 DOE (Depending on Experience)

We are currently recruiting for an experienced Freight Forwarder to join a growing logistics team in Chicago. This is an excellent opportunity for a detail-oriented logistics professional with experience coordinating international and/or domestic freight shipments and working closely with customers, carriers, and internal teams.

The ideal candidate will have a strong understanding of freight forwarding operations, excellent communication skills, and the ability to manage multiple shipments and priorities in a fast-paced environment.

• Coordinate and manage freight shipments from booking through final delivery.
• Arrange and monitor air, ocean, and/or ground transportation.
• Communicate with customers, carriers, customs brokers, and overseas partners.
• Prepare and review shipping and freight documentation.
• Track shipments and proactively resolve delays or issues.
• Obtain and review freight rates and assist with quoting.
• Ensure shipments comply with applicable regulations and customer requirements.
• Maintain accurate shipment records and update internal systems.
• Provide timely updates to customers regarding shipment status.
• Collaborate with internal teams to ensure efficient and accurate shipment execution.
• Assist with resolving freight claims, discrepancies, and other operational issues as needed.

• Previous experience in freight forwarding, logistics, transportation, or a related field.
• Knowledge of international and/or domestic shipping processes.
• Familiarity with air and ocean freight is preferred.
• Strong organizational and time-management skills.
• Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
• Ability to multitask and work effectively in a fast-paced environment.
• Strong attention to detail and problem-solving abilities.
• Experience with freight forwarding software or transportation management systems is a plus.
• $55,000–$70,000 annual salary, depending on experience
