Order Selector, Distribution Center

Job Overview

Whole Foods Market is seeking a Full Time Order Selector for our Distribution Center in Chicago, IL (Pullman District). This perishable distribution center handles floral, meat and produce products.

Base pay: $18.00–$33.66 hourly (commensurate with experience). Incentives include a $200 8‑week training completion bonus, a $1,000 milestone bonus, and a $500 bonus after 6 and 12 months. Potential earnings up to $840 a month based on productivity and accuracy.

Starts at 11:00 AM. Workers will work to completion and may work rotating 4‑day/10‑hour workweeks, including weekends and holidays. Schedules are subject to change (provided 3 weeks in advance).

• Use a voice‑based order system to select and palletize store orders.
• Manually stack product onto pallets, wrap, and prepare for shipment.
• Respect Good Organics compliances when stacking product.
• Operate an electric/motorized ride‑on standing pallet jack (single or double).
• Assist in cleaning the warehouse and maintaining a safe work environment.
• Comply with all applicable health and safety codes.
• Maintain employee safety and security standards.
• Arrive on time, wear appropriate PPE, work all scheduled shifts, complete required trainings, and attend required meetings.
• Read and speak basic English.
• Perform other duties as assigned by the Team Leader, Associate Team Leader, or Facility Leadership.

• Experience operating an electric/motorized ride‑on standing pallet jack (single or double).
• Experience with voice systems.
• Team‑player with a positive attitude.
• Strong organizational skills and ability to prioritize and meet deadlines.
• Self‑motivated and capable of working independently with little supervision.

• Must stand or walk at least 10 hours, and frequently push, pull, squat, bend, and reach.
• Must lift up to 50 lb normally and occasionally up to 70 lb (team lift suggested for weights > 70 lb).
• Work in a cold/wet storage facility (–10 °F to 55 °F). General warehouse temperatures 34–46 °F.
• Regularly use powered equipment.
• Use tools and equipment including safety box cutters, electric pallet jacks, and voice equipment.
• Adhere to company dress code and PPE requirements.

• Average shifts are 8–10 hours long.
• Must work a rotating schedule, including nights, weekends, and holidays as needed.
• May require the use of ladders.
