Logistics Clerk
We are looking for a dependable Logistics Clerk to join a wood and furniture manufacturing operation in Chicago, Illinois. This is a Contract position focused on hands-on warehouse support, including moving furniture shipments, organizing incoming inventory, and preparing outbound orders for carrier pickup. The role works closely with a small warehouse team and is ideal for someone who is comfortable with physical work, follows directions well, and helps maintain an orderly shipping area.
Responsibilities:
- Unload furniture and boxed merchandise from inbound containers and place items in the appropriate warehouse locations.
- Prepare outbound Fed Ex shipments by moving products onto trailers and arranging loads for safe transport.
- Sort and group inventory by style number, then build and stack pallets in an organized manner for storage or shipment.
- Use manual aids such as rollers to help transfer products efficiently while handling items with care.
- Support the warehouse team with general material handling tasks, including putting away product and assisting with heavier items when needed.
- Keep the work area clean and safe by sweeping floors and maintaining an orderly lot and warehouse space.
- Assist with Wayfair-related shipment handling to ensure incoming and outgoing orders are processed accurately.
- Take on additional duties such as helping with return processing and completing handwritten return documentation after training.
- Follow shipping and receiving procedures to help maintain accurate movement of goods throughout the facility.
The salary range for this position is $17.50/hr to $18/hr benefits available to contract/temporary professionals, include medical, vision, dental, and life and disability insurance. Hired contract/temporary professionals are also eligible to enroll in our company 401(k) plan.
