Warehouse Agent

The Warehouse Agent is responsible for operational functions within the warehouse including shipping and receiving, inbound/outbound deliveries, pick and pack, and other functions.

Duties also include regular communication with carriers, the local transportation group and receivers.

Primary duties and responsibilities include:

  • Performs one or more warehouse operational functions within the guidelines of the facility (pick, pack, wrap and load orders for our customers)
  • Receives and stows product
  • Ensures inventory accuracy
  • Unloads/loads trucks or containers, plus the building and breakdown of ULDs
  • Schedules inbound deliveries using Advance Ship Notices
  • Works within established SOP's and/or scientific methods and adheres to quality guidelines
  • Demonstrates depth and breadth of knowledge or proficiency in several areas or in specialized areas of responsibility
  • Accurately and efficiently performs several operational tasks assigned to the individual
  • Operates multiple types of material handling/packaging/warehouse equipment
  • Performs several specialized warehouse operations functions within the operating guidelines of the facility
  • Demonstrates effective oral and written communication skills
  • Perform weekly/monthly/annual cycle counts
  • Completes other duties and tasks as assigned by management

Physical demands include:

  • Work is performed while standing, sitting and/or walking
  • Ability to occasionally lift up to 50 lbs. required.
  • Ability to stand for 8-10 hours per day
  • Ability to talk and hear required.
  • Ability to communicate effectively using speech, vision and hearing
  • Ability to use hands for simple grasping and fine manipulations
  • Requires activities involving being around moving machinery, exposure to marked changes in temperature and humidity, and exposure to dust, fumes, and gases
  • Ability to perform repetitive motions required.
  • Ability to move or position self in order to reach, lift, climb, balance, stoop and crouch required.
  • Ability to read PC screens; detect color coding, read fine print, and/or normal type size print required.

Job requirements include:

  • High School Diploma or GED
  • Minimum of two to five (2-5) years' experience
  • Past or current Forklift Certification

Preferred qualifications include:

  • Experience in a fast-paced warehouse/production logistics environment

Skills essential to the job include:

Technical:

  • Proven proficiency in an automated warehouse environment, working knowledge of WMS technologies.

Material handling equipment and personal computers with good working knowledge of MS Office Suite.

  • Very organized / Methodical

    • Approachable

  • Demonstrated critical thinking, using logic and reasoning to identify strengths, weaknesses, opportunities and risks, and identifying alternative solutions or approaches
