We are seeking a dependable and detail-oriented Full-Time Warehouse Associate to support our warehouse operations. Our rugs require meticulous handling and storage. This role is ideal for someone who takes pride in handling high-value merchandise with exceptional care and precision. The position is based at K.
A. Pridjian & Co. warehouse (11600 S. Halsted St. in Chicago) where SHIIR receives, inspects, inventories, and ships rugs and other duties as assigned. There may be days when working in the main office (208 W. Kinzie St.) with the SHIIR team will be required. This is a physically demanding job that also requires customer service skills. This position will report to the SHIIR Operations Manager.
- Receive, inspect, and document incoming shipments
- Carefully handle, roll, wrap, and store rugs
- Prepare rugs for shipment
- Assist, when needed, with loading and unloading rugs when delivered to the warehouse or being picked up for shipment
- Maintain organized, climate-conscious storage conditions
- Perform quality checks to ensure rugs remain in pristine condition
- Assist with annual inventory counts
- Maintain a clean, organized, and professional warehouse environment
- Follow all handling and safety protocols for high-value inventory
- Previous warehouse experience preferred
- Strong attention to detail and respect for high-value merchandise
- Ability to lift and move heavy rolled rugs (50–300lbs+ with assistance)
- Careful, methodical approach to handling delicate materials (silk, wool, cashmere)
- Basic computer and inventory system skills
- Strong work ethic and reliability
- Valid Drivers License
- Frequent lifting, bending, and standing
- Ability to safely maneuver large, rolled and folded rugs
- Comfortable working in warehouse and showroom support settings
- Professionalism and discretion

- Pride in maintaining high operational standards
