Grade 5L, Step 05 - $18.31 - $21.00/Hour.
Schedule:
Mon - Fri. Shifts Available;
Day
Shift: Monday - Friday; 7:00AM-3:30PM. Or Night
Shift: Mon-Fri 2:30PM-11:00PM. Certifications/Licenses
Required:
Massachusetts Class D Driver's License, High School Diploma/G.E.D.
Summary:
The City of Chicopee's Facilities Department is hiring a Facilities Custodian who would be responsible for the performance of routine custodial duties during an assigned shift, to maintain the assigned municipal building and adjacent grounds in a clean, orderly, safe, and secure condition.
- Empty trash.
- Clean and sanitize bathrooms.
- Wash, strip, and wax floors.
- Clean carpets as needed.
- Mow the lawn, string trim, rake, and use leaf blower.
- Clean areas outside the building.
- Vacuum, clean, and dust inside the building as needed.
- Enter and respond to work orders as needed or assigned.
- Perform small carpentry, electrical, and plumbing work with assistance.
- Snow removal such as plowing, shoveling, snow blower use, and ice melt application.
- Fill in at different locations as needed or assigned.
- Other duties as assigned.
- Board of Probation background check:
Successfully complete and pass. - Fingerprinted background check:
Successfully complete and pass. - Basic Security Awareness Training within six (6) months of hire and biannually thereafter.
- Massachusetts Class D Driver's License:
Required. - High School Diploma/G.E.D. or one to three (1-3) months related experience and/or training; or equivalent combination of education and experience.
- Experience in building maintenance:
Required;
Experience in building maintenance - Preferred. - Working knowledge of landscaping equipment and snow removal equipment:
Preferred.
