The City of Chicopee’s Facilities Department is hiring a Facilities Custodian to perform routine custodial duties during an assigned shift, maintain the municipal building and adjacent grounds in a clean, orderly, safe, and secure condition.

• Cleans and sanitizes bathrooms.
• Washes, strips, and waxes floors.
• Cleans carpet as needed.
• Mows lawns, strings trimming, rakes, and leaf blows.
• Sets up rooms for departmental and public meetings or events, when necessary.
• Cleans areas outside building.
• Vacuum, clean, and dust inside the building as needed.
• Enters and responds to work orders as needed or assigned.
• Does small carpentry, electrical and plumbing work with assistance.
• Snow removal – snow plowing, snow blower use, shoveling and ice melt application.
• Works at other locations as needed or assigned.
• Other duties as assigned.
• Secures buildings.

• Successfully complete and pass a Board of Probations Background Check. –
  Required
• Successfully complete and pass a Fingerprint-Based Background Check.
• Successful completion of Basic Security Awareness Training within six (6) months of hire and biannually thereafter. –
  Required
• Massachusetts Class D Driver’s License. –
  Required
• High School Diploma / G.E.D. or one to three (1‑3) months related experience and/or training; or equivalent combination of education and experience. –
  Required
• Experience in building maintenance. – Preferred
• Working knowledge of landscaping equipment and snow removal equipment. – Preferred
