Maintenance Assistant

Care Core at Westmoreland is seeking a dependable and motivated Maintenance Assistant to join our team. If you enjoy hands‑on work, take pride in keeping buildings safe and well‑maintained, and want to make a difference in the lives of our residents, we'd love to hear from you!

• Perform general building maintenance, repairs, and preventative maintenance.
• Complete basic plumbing, electrical, carpentry, painting, and drywall repairs.
• Maintain the grounds, including mowing, trimming, and seasonal upkeep.
• Assist with heating, cooling, and other facility equipment maintenance.
• Conduct routine safety inspections and help ensure compliance with Life Safety standards.
• Respond to maintenance requests in a timely and professional manner.
• Assist with waste removal, deliveries, and inventory of maintenance supplies.
• Help maintain emergency systems, including generators, fire alarms, smoke detectors, and other safety equipment.
• Participate in on‑call or emergency maintenance needs as required.
• Work closely with other departments to maintain a clean, safe, and comfortable environment for our residents and staff.

• Previous maintenance experience preferred, ideally in a healthcare, long‑term care, or commercial setting.
• Working knowledge of basic plumbing, electrical, HVAC, carpentry, and general building maintenance.
• Ability to troubleshoot problems and complete repairs independently.
• Strong attention to detail and organizational skills.
• Ability to lift, carry, bend, climb ladders, and perform physical work throughout the day.
• Reliable, dependable, and committed to providing excellent service.
• Experience with Life Safety Codes is a plus.
