A specific length of training and experience is not required - but you must show evidence of training or experience of sufficient scope and quality of your ability to do the work of this position. Applicants will be rated in accordance with the OPM Federal Wage System Qualification Standards. SCREEN-OUT ELEMENT:

Note:

A full year of work is considered to be 35-40 hours of work per week. Part-time experience will be credited on the basis of time actually spent in appropriate activities. Applicants wishing to receive credit for such experience must indicate clearly the nature of their duties and responsibilities in each position and the number of hours a week spent in such employment.

Physical Requirements /

Working Conditions:

Employee must have the physical ability and effort to apply asphalt - load and unload materials - supplies - tools - garbage - and trash - cut grass - trim trees - clean ditches - move earth - etc. Employee must perform heavy lifting in a manner to ensure against injury to self or other personnel. Heavy physical effort may be required in loading and unloading personnel into or out of ambulances and in the transporting of various supplies.

Incumbent may work from ladders - scaffolding - and/or hydraulic platforms. This position requires working in uncontrolled environments - in inclement weather conditions - and in confined or uncomfortable spaces. Many work sites are hot - dirty - dusty - greasy - poorly lit - cramped and with unpleasant odors. Occasionally is subject to possible dangerous working conditions including exposure to hazards normally encountered in the hospital trades and various types of infections.

May be subject to burns - cuts - bruises - and strains. Required to wear appropriate personal protective equipment as necessary to accomplish assigned tasks in a safe manner. Environmental factors the incumbent may be exposed to include:
