Ruth & Naomi’s Mission has been serving the Chilliwack community for over 20 years. What began with handing out sandwiches to people experiencing homelessness has grown into a multi‑site organization with over 100 staff serving people across a variety of programs. Every day we serve hundreds of meals, provide emergency shelter, and walk alongside individuals on their journey toward stability and recovery.
We are a Christian faith‑based organization committed to seeing lives transformed by the love of God.
To support this work, we are looking for a Coffee Shop Keyholder to join our team.
Our coffee shop operates as a social enterprise and employment program, providing participants with an opportunity to gain meaningful work experience in a supportive environment. This role plays an important part in both the daily operations of the coffee shop and in supporting participants as they develop workplace skills.
What You’ll DoAs a Coffee Shop Keyholder you will help ensure the smooth day‑to‑day operation of the coffee shop while creating a welcoming environment for customers, staff, volunteers, and program participants.
Responsibilities include:
- Preparing and serving coffee, beverages, and food items
- Providing excellent and friendly customer service
- Opening and/or closing the coffee shop as a keyholder
- Operating the POS system and handling cash transactions
- Maintaining a clean and organized coffee shop
- Supporting participants gaining employment experience in the coffee shop
- Modeling positive workplace behaviour and teamwork
The ideal candidate is reliable, customer‑focused, and passionate about contributing to a supportive and welcoming environment.
Qualifications include:
- Previous café, barista, or customer service experience preferred
- Strong interpersonal and communication skills
- Ability to work in a fast‑paced environment
- Comfortable working alongside employment program participants
- Food Safe certification (or willingness to obtain) required
- $21.50 per hour
