POSITION SUMMARY

Blue Ridge Escapes is seeking a skilled and dependable Maintenance Technician to join our property management team in Christiansburg, VA. In this hands‑on role, you'll be responsible for maintaining the quality and functionality of our vacation rental properties through timely repairs, preventative maintenance, and responsive guest support. The ideal candidate thrives in a practical, action‑oriented environment where attention to detail and efficient problem‑solving make a real difference.

You'll work independently across multiple properties, ensuring each one meets our high standards for safety, comfort, and guest satisfaction while building strong relationships with our operations team and supporting the overall guest experience.

RESPONSIBILITIES General Maintenance
  • Perform minor repairs such as fixing doors, locks, drywall, trim, and fixtures
  • Replace light bulbs, air filters, smoke detector batteries, and small hardware
  • Address basic plumbing issues (clogs, leaks, running toilets, faucet repairs)
  • Assist with basic electrical tasks (switches, outlets, fixtures)
Preventative Property Care
  • Complete routine property inspections and maintenance checklists
  • Identify potential issues before they become major problems
  • Help maintain HVAC systems with filter changes and visual checks
  • Ensure properties remain safe, clean, and guest‑ready
Turnover & Guest Support
  • Respond to maintenance requests from guests and property owners
  • Troubleshoot issues such as WiFi, smart locks, TVs, and appliances
  • Help prepare properties for arrivals during busy periods when needed
Outdoor & Seasonal Tasks
  • Light yard work and exterior upkeep as needed
  • Assist with weather preparation (winterization, storm prep, etc.)
Team Collaboration
  • Communicate clearly with the operations team and cleaners
  • Document completed work and report issues through company systems
QUALIFICATIONS
  • Reliable transportation and valid driver's license
  • Comfortable using basic hand tools and power tools
  • Ability to lift 50 lbs and perform physical work (climbing stairs, ladders, etc.)
  • Strong problem‑solving skills and willingness to learn
  • Dependable, punctual, and able to work independently
  • Good communication and customer service skills
  • Ability to pass a background check
COMPENSATION & BENEFITS

Hourly Rate: $16.00 - $22.00

Schedule: Thursday to Monday 9am to 6pm.
