Montgomery County Public Schools in Virginia is accepting applications for a full-time, evening shift custodian position at Christiansburg High School.

Job Responsibilities:

• Perform routine manual labor associated with daily cleaning of buildings.
• Dust mopping, sweeping, wet mopping, vacuuming, dusting, waxing, removing trash, cleaning bathrooms, and polishing furniture.

• High school diploma or equivalent, or passing score on the literacy test given by MCPS.
• Ability to perform tasks requiring moderate physical strength.
• Ability to read basic operating instructions.
• Ability to cooperate with other staff members.
• Ability to adapt to changes in the work environment.
• Ability to respond to emergencies in support of students and school operations.
• Physical ability to repeatedly lift heavy objects (40+ lbs.) as needed.
• Dependability and punctuality.
• Ability to support school functions and community activities as deemed necessary.

• Knowledge of cleaning methods, materials and equipment.
• Previous custodial experience.
• Ability to use a computer and input data.

FLSA Status: Non‑Exempt

Salary: $35,880.00 – $62,915.80 annually; commensurate with experience and pro‑rated to start date.
