The GAAP Coordinator serves as the agency's financial reporting leader for the Illinois Department of Labor, working under the Chief Fiscal Officer in Springfield. The role directs the conversion of financial information from cash to accrual basis and prepares monthly, quarterly, and annual financial reports while collaborating with leadership on audit functions and internal controls. The coordinator acts as a liaison to external and internal auditors and ensures compliance with Generally Accepted Accounting Principles and state accounting procedures.
Keyqualifications:
- Registered or licensed Certified Public Accountant (CPA)
- Four years of professional accounting experience
- Two years of experience preparing complete financial statements in accordance with GAAP and/or conducting Government Auditing Standards audits
- Knowledge of state accounting and auditing procedures
- Experience with office software packages including MS Outlook, Access, Excel, and Word
