Monarch Academy is seeking dedicated and adaptable Substitute Teachers to provide instructional support for students with autism and complex communication, behavioral, and learning needs. Substitute Teachers maintain a structured, supportive classroom environment while implementing lesson plans, collaborating with classroom staff, and supporting individualized student learning. Working alongside Registered Behavior Technicians (RBTs), related service providers, and school leadership, substitute teachers help ensure continuity of instruction, communication support, behavior programming, and daily routines.
Position Requirements- Completed requirements for a bachelor's degree from a regionally accredited college or university
- Illinois Professional Educator License with LBS1 certification and appropriate subject endorsement strongly preferred.
- Applicants holding a valid Illinois Substitute Teaching License are also encouraged to apply.
- Successful candidates are flexible, collaborative, and committed to fostering student growth through evidence-based practices and positive relationships. Experience working with students with disabilities, autism, or therapeutic educational programs is preferred but not required.
- Demonstrates excellence in verbal and written communication.
- Experience with collaborative groups and processes in student-centered environment.
- Other qualifications of academic, professional, and personal excellence as the Board may specify.
- This position requires work to be done in person and on site.
Salary will be determined on a per diem basis and the employee will submit a timesheet for hours worked.
