The Deputy Chief Fiscal Officer leads critical fiscal operations for the Illinois Emergency Management Agency and Office of Homeland Security, providing financial leadership during State Emergency Operations Center activations and emergency deployments. The position oversees fiscal and procurement activities, manages the Finance Bureau, develops policies and training, and serves in an acting leadership capacity when needed. This is a full-line supervisor role within an ever-changing environment that balances routine operations with emergency response.
Keyqualifications
- Four years of college with coursework in accounting, business, or public administration
- Four years of progressively responsible administrative financial experience in a public or business organization
- Professional supervisory experience managing professional staff
- Experience managing complex or multi-source governmental funds
- Knowledge of financial compliance, regulatory requirements, auditing, or internal controls
- Experience with financial systems such as SAP or comparable ERP systems
