UX Designer, Design Systems - HYBRID - Hybrid

Role Overview

UX Designer – Design Systems. Hybrid – 3 days a week in downtown Chicago. 6‑month contract with potential extension or full‑time conversion. 40 hours a week, W2.

• 1 step – In person onsite.
• Portfolio required.

• Native mobile, product design, UX design, Figma, design system, responsive web design, library, WCAG, B2C.
• Worked in an omni‑channel environment.
• Experience with a large‑scale design system, including auditing existing libraries and combining/reinventing libraries strategically and scalably.
• 3+ years of formal User Experience experience.
• Understanding of atomic design and its application.
• Portfolio with 2 case studies showcasing work above.

• Play integral part of the B2C client’s Design System team, maintaining and updating libraries for components across app, web, and kiosk.
• Collaborate with agency partners, accessibility experts, product managers, and UX researchers.
• Ensure delivery of high‑fidelity designs, focusing on creating and modifying design system patterns, specifications, and QA through an agile design and development process.
• Contribute to, maintain, and utilize the design system.
• Audit existing design libraries and combine/reinvent libraries strategically.
• Identify opportunities across digital ecosystems to reduce UX & UI redundancy.
• Establish naming conventions and organizational frameworks for all levels of atomic design.
• Work closely with agency partners, product managers, and developers to create, modify, document, and deliver designs that scale across audiences, abilities, devices, and platforms.
• Review and ensure designs are accurately executed by development teams.
• Collaborate with product and development teams to understand business, technical, and user requirements and dependencies.
• Communicate designs verbally and visually to stakeholders, addressing feedback productively.
• Provide clear documentation and work through implementation process with development.
