Role Overview
This position directly supports the DISA-provided GIG capabilities and services in the 24x7 DISA Global Operations Center (DGOC). The NOC Technician will be responsible for performing duties such as creating, updating, and monitoring incident tickets, providing situational awareness to leadership and affected communities, and communicating effectively with the O&M team and customers.
What You Will DoThe NOC Technician will monitor network events and element management failures 24/7/365, analyze alarms, correlate fault information, identify impacts, isolate root causes, and coordinate fault corrections. They will also notify relevant contacts based on network incidents and coordinate with other service providers to track and restore service.
Why It Might Be a FitThe ideal candidate will have demonstrated experience in alarm surveillance, fault management, LAN maintenance, or performance management, and proficiency in at least two of the following: routers, switches, crypto devices, DSN/DRSN, Video Services, Promina, CISCO, Juniper, MSPP, DWDM, Optical Switching.
Requirements- Certification:
Required DoD-8570 IAT Level 2 certification (e.g., Security+ CE or equivalent) by the start date. - Availability:
Ability to work in a 24/7 operational environment. - Experience:
Demonstrated experience in alarm surveillance, fault management, LAN maintenance, or performance management. - Expertise:
Proficiency in at least two of the following: routers, switches, crypto devices, DSN/DRSN, Video Services, Promina, CISCO, Juniper, MSPP, DWDM, Optical Switching. - Network Knowledge:
General understanding of network topologies, including both transport and IP. - Must have an active DoD Top Secret security clearance with Sensitive Compartmented Information (SCI) eligibility.
Pay Range: $40,300.00 - $72,850.00
