The American Academy of Dermatology (Academy) is seeking a Vice President, Corporate Partnerships & Giving located in our Rosemont, IL office responsible for driving sustainable revenue growth through corporate partnership support and individual giving. This role leads the strategy, development, and execution of annual and multi-year revenue streams, including sponsor ships, grants, cause marketing, annual giving, major gifts, and planned giving. Reporting to the SVP, Growth, Brand and Partnerships, the VP partners closely with the CEO, Executive Team, member leaders, and staff partners to align revenue strategies with the Academy’s mission, brand, and long‑term financial goals.

The role is accountable for building a high‑performing revenue pipeline, deepening donor and corporate relationships, and delivering measurable, mission‑aligned results.

Responsibilities
  • Own and deliver annual and multi-year revenue goals across corporate partnerships and individual giving, including sponsor ships, grants, cause marketing, annual giving, major gifts, special events, and planned/deferred giving.
  • Build and manage a disciplined, data‑informed revenue pipeline to include oversight of prospect identification, cultivation and solicitation strategies, revenue forecasting, conversion and renewal rates, donor and sponsor retention to ensure consistent progress against goals.
  • Translate the Board‑approved Revenue Strategy into clear, executable plans, partner with the SVP, CEO, and Executive Team to drive accountability and achieve organization‑wide corporate partnerships and giving targets.
  • Develop and scale corporate partnerships as a sustainable revenue stream by defining a compelling value proposition, expanding market opportunities, strengthening sponsor engagement, and ensuring alignment with Academy priorities, governance standards, and reputational considerations.
  • Lead the development and execution of a comprehensive individual giving strategy, including donor segmentation, annual giving, major gifts, stewardship, donor cultivation, planned/deferred giving, and campaigns that build a stronger philanthropic culture and measurable donor engagement over time.
  • Lead organization‑wide efforts, in partnership with executive and senior staff and key member leaders, to increase visibility and understanding of the Academy’s corporate partnership and philanthropic priorities and position supported programs as integral, mission‑aligned efforts of the Academy.
  • Partner with the CEO, SVP, Executive Team, and key member leaders to identify, cultivate, solicit, and steward high‑value donors, sponsors, corporate partners, foundations, and alliance partners, leveraging their engagement to advance strategic revenue opportunities.
  • Lead the development and execution of integrated, data‑driven fundraising and engagement campaigns in partnership with Marketing and Communications to drive awareness, deepen relationships, and achieve measurable results.
  • Drive cross‑functional alignment and execution by coordinating staff, member leaders, and key functions (e.g., marketing, finance, legal, education, advocacy, and programs) around shared revenue goals, timelines, and outcomes.
  • Oversee departmental strategy, operations, and resources, including budgeting, staffing, systems, and processes, to support revenue growth, strong stakeholder experience, and accurate performance tracking.
  • Build and lead a high‑performing team with clear goals, accountability measures, and development opportunities; foster a culture of collaboration, inclusion, and results‑driven performance.
  • Establish and monitor key performance indicators and reporting frameworks to demonstrate revenue performance, donor and sponsor impact, and return on investment.
  • Ensure all corporate partnership and philanthropic activities comply with organizational policies, ethical standards, conflict‑of‑interest requirements, and reputational risk considerations.
  • Operate as an enterprise leader with organization‑wide accountability for corporate partnerships and individual giving outcomes, working across leadership levels to advance strategic priorities and long‑term financial sustainability.
