Position: Advanced Practice Provider - Physician Assistant/Nurse Practitioner - Oncology Rapid Assessment[...]

Job Description

Join the Oncology Rapid Assessment Clinic (ORAC) at University of Chicago Medicine. Sign‑on bonus up to $10,000 and relocation available.

As an Advanced Practice Provider (Nurse Practitioner or Physician Assistant), you will provide comprehensive direct patient care, managing patients with autonomous decision‑making in assessment, diagnosis, and initiation of delegated medical treatments. You will deliver healthcare and patient services that may include educational, research, and clinical support, under supervision of the Cancer Service Line leadership.

ORAC is an APP‑staffed clinic caring for cancer patients requiring urgent, same‑day/next‑day assessment and treatment, often involving acute care for symptoms of malignancy and toxicities of cancer therapies. After orientation, you will work autonomously and collaboratively with the ORAC team, using evidence‑based practice with faculty, pharmacists, and nurses. This candidate will be trained in management of both hematologic and solid tumor malignancies, as well as oncologic emergencies (e.g., neutropenic fever, tumor lysis syndrome, cytokine release syndrome, neurotoxicity due to therapeutic agents, DIC, HLH, sepsis, and cord compression).
