Onward Education is partnering with a school district in Lake County, Illinois to hire a Registered Nurse (RN). This is an in-person role supporting students and staff with day-to-day health needs, medication administration, and care coordination.

As a school nurse, you’ll provide nursing services in a school setting-supporting student health, responding to injuries/illness, managing chronic conditions, and partnering with families and school teams to keep students safe and learning.

• Schedule:
  
  37.5 hours/week, 8am to 4pm
• Dates: 8/17/2026 to 6/3/2027
• On-site

• Assess and respond to student illnesses, injuries, and health concerns during the school day
• Administer medications and support students with chronic conditions (e.g., asthma, diabetes, seizure plans)
• Create and maintain student health plans and health documentation as needed
• Communicate with families, providers, and school staff to coordinate care and support attendance
• Serve as a health resource for staff and help promote a safe school environment

• Active Registered Nurse (RN) license (Illinois)
• PEL required (Professional Educator License)
• School-based nursing experience is a plus, but not required if you have strong pediatric/community nursing fundamentals
• Ability to work on-site and move confidently in a fast-paced school environment
