Position Summary
As a pivotal team member, you will prepare and distribute pharmaceuticals, including simple compound preparations, assist with inventory control and compliance audits, and provide exceptional customer service while maintaining pharmacy records. You will work directly with the Manager and Pharmacist to deliver top‑notch, patient‑focused specialty pharmacy services.
Responsibilities- Provide the highest level of customer service, answering calls or greeting patients in person.
- Assist with medication preparation, ensuring all procedures are performed in strict compliance with laws, regulations, accreditation standards, and client policies, including participation in a double‑check system.
- Deliver prepared medication to patient care areas, upholding its integrity, security, and confidentiality.
- Maintain proficiency with technology such as automated dispensing machines, robotics, barcoding systems, and computer applications.
- Adhere to all federal, state, and local laws and accreditation standards.
- Help with inventory control: receiving, stocking, and replenishing medication stock, checking use‑by dates, and communicating ordering needs.
- Maintain a clean, orderly, and safe working area in compliance with regulations.
- Participate actively in performance or quality improvement initiatives and project execution.
- High School diploma or G.E.D. required; higher level education preferred.
- Active and unrestricted Pharmacy Technician license with the Board of Pharmacy in the state of application is required.
- (IL) Active National Certification verified by PTCB or ExCPT is preferred.
- 1+ years of pharmacy‑related experience required.
- Effective interpersonal skills to interact appropriately with patients, families/visitors, colleagues, and others.
- Ability to speak, read, interpret, and follow complex verbal and written instructions accurately.
- Additional language skills appropriate to the patient population served are helpful.
- Ability to multi‑task, prioritize essential tasks, and meet deadlines.
- Ability to perform general mathematical functions (addition, subtraction, multiplication, division, percentages, ratios, and proportions).
- Computer proficiency, including entry and interpretation of computerized data/information.
- Employees at client sites may be required to work on company‑recognized holidays, with eligibility for holiday pay.
- The current hourly range for this position is $25.00/hour - $27.00/hour. The actual rate within this range will depend on geography, skills and abilities, education, experience, and other relevant factors.
