Summary
Performs routine and advanced calibration testing on laboratory and plant equipment to assure accurate measurements.
Responsibilities- Perform routine calibration of assigned devices.
- Manage workload to meet production schedules and ensure completion within time frames.
- Coordinate with external calibration vendors to service instruments and equipment.
- Communicate professionally with other departments to schedule calibration activities.
- Maintain all documentation in an organized and controlled manner in compliance with GAMP, FDA, cGMP, and GCP.
- Produce and maintain proper paperwork (data sheets, certificates, stickers, etc.) in compliance with Good Manufacturing Practices and Good Documentation Practices.
- Report OOS results when results fall out‑of‑the expected ranges and perform instrument adjustments where applicable.
- Keep an inventory of calibration standards and consumable supplies that affect the quality of calibration results.
- Enter data and use databases in accordance with internal SOPs and external regulatory requirements.
- Perform peer review of calibration activities when required.
- Apply advanced troubleshooting, analytical, and problem‑solving skills.
- Support onboarding of new equipment and instruments.
- Use and calibrate tools and test equipment.
- Apply knowledge of laboratory and production instrumentation and equipment.
- Learn new technical disciplines and apply previous experience to new tasks.
- Perform periodic reviews and updates of calibration work instructions.
- Complete emergent and assigned tasks unsupervised.
- Attend to all duties as assigned by manager/supervisor, including overtime and/or weekend work.
- Valid driver’s license.
- Associate’s degree in a related field or 3–5 years related experience and/or training.
- College‑level mathematical skills.
- Intermediate computer skills and knowledge of various computer programs.
- Full professional proficiency in speaking, reading, and writing.
- Very high reasoning skills—ability to define problems, collect data, establish facts, draw valid conclusions, and interpret technical instructions.
- Ability to demonstrate strong attention to detail.
- Experience with Blue Mountain RAM.
- Experience with a wide variety of calibration test equipment.
- Ability to work independently.
Hourly rate $24.58–$27.65 plus eligibility for an annual performance bonus. PCI offers a comprehensive benefits package that includes paid time off, health insurance (including dental and vision), a flexible spending account, and a 401(k) plan.
