Maintenance Director

Edith Lane is seeking an experienced and dependable Maintenance Director to oversee the daily operations of the maintenance department and ensure a safe, clean, and properly functioning environment for residents, staff, and visitors. The ideal candidate will have strong leadership skills, hands‑on maintenance experience, and knowledge of building systems, safety regulations, and preventative maintenance practices. Experience in healthcare or long‑term care settings is preferred.

• Oversee the daily operations of the maintenance department
• Maintain the facility, grounds, equipment, and building systems in compliance with all applicable regulations and safety standards
• Develop and implement preventative maintenance schedules
• Ensure timely completion of maintenance requests and repairs
• Supervise maintenance staff and outside vendors/contractors
• Monitor and maintain HVAC, plumbing, electrical, fire safety, and mechanical systems
• Conduct regular inspections to identify and address safety hazards or maintenance concerns
• Ensure compliance with OSHA, life safety, and state/federal regulations
• Maintain accurate maintenance logs, inspection records, and equipment documentation
• Assist with emergency preparedness and response procedures
• Manage department inventory, supplies, and budget needs
• Participate in facility projects, renovations, and capital improvements as needed

• Previous maintenance leadership experience required
• Healthcare, nursing home, or assisted living experience preferred
• Strong knowledge of building systems, maintenance procedures, and safety regulations
• Ability to troubleshoot and perform general repairs independently
• Excellent organizational and communication skills
• Ability to supervise staff and manage multiple priorities
• Must be able to lift, push, pull, and move equipment/materials as needed
• Valid driver’s license preferred
