The Facilities Technician role is a hands‑on, detail‑oriented position responsible for maintaining a clean, safe, and functional facility. This position performs routine janitorial duties as the primary responsibility while also supporting basic building maintenance, groundskeeping, and facility repair functions. This role plays a key in ensuring company operations run smoothly by proactively addressing maintenance needs and assisting with general facility upkeep.
This role requires self‑motivation and the ability to prioritize tasks in a manufacturing environment.
- Perform daily janitorial and facility cleaning duties throughout office and manufacturing areas, including bathrooms, offices, and production cells, and other areas as needed.
- Complete basic plumbing repairs and troubleshooting as needed.
- Assist with simple HVAC maintenance and minor repair tasks.
- Coordinate and/or perform overhead door inspections and basic maintenance.
- Support lawn care, landscaping, and general outdoor property maintenance.
- Assist with snow removal activities during winter weather conditions.
- Coordinate and maintain extermination and pest control activities as necessary.
- Perform painting and touch‑up work throughout facility areas.
- Empty and maintain cigarette receptacles and waste collection stations.
- Break down pallets and coordinate disposal or burning procedures as appropriate.
- Move, assemble, and rearrange office or shop furniture as needed.
- Assist with setup and teardown for company meetings, events, and special activities.
- Identify maintenance concerns and communicate repair needs to management in a timely manner.
- Maintain organized storage of maintenance supplies, tools, and equipment.
- Follow all company safety procedures and maintain a safe working environment.
- Coordinate with external vendors on matters related to facilities upkeep such as fire extinguishers and safety, alarm system, first aid stations, external snow removal, etc.
- Occasional driving of company vehicles for maintenance‑related errands and/or shop help with deliveries if maintenance work is slow.
- High school diploma or equivalent required.
- Previous maintenance, janitorial, or facility support experience preferred.
- Basic knowledge of plumbing, HVAC, and general building maintenance preferred.
- Ability to safely operate basic hand and power tools.
- Strong organizational and time management skills.
- Able to work independently and prioritize multiple tasks effectively.
- Must be dependable, proactive, and willing to assist in a variety of facility‑related tasks.
- Ability to lift, move, and transport materials and equipment as needed.
- Comfortable working indoors and outdoors in varying weather conditions.
