Position Overview:We are looking for a detail‑oriented Specialty Services Coordinator to join our Special Services Team. Unlike a general porter role, this position focuses on high‑impact technical cleaning tasks that require specialized equipment and advanced techniques.
You will be responsible for traveling to various locations to clean based on the scope of the job ensuring that windows, floors, surfaces, and/or hard‑to‑reach areas are left in pristine condition and exceeding customer expectations.
This is an individual contributor role that requires a high degree of self‑management, physical stamina, and a “keen eye” for spots others might miss.
Floor Maintenance and Machinery Operation:- Perform professional floor maintenance including stripping, waxing, buffing, and polishing hard surfaces
- Operate heavy machinery such as auto‑scrubbers, burnishers, and industrial extractors
- Clean interior and exterior glass, mirrors, and partitions using squeegees, water‑fed poles, or lift equipment as needed
- Clear dust and debris from vents, light fixtures, ceiling pipes, and ledges (often requiring the use of ladders or lifts)
- Sanitize high‑touch surfaces and architectural features
- Perform basic daily maintenance and cleaning of specialized equipment to ensure longevity and safety
- Report any mechanical failures or supply shortages immediately
- Follow all OSHA and safety guidelines, specifically regarding chemical handling (SDS) and “CAUTION” signage
- Safely operate aerial lifts or scaffolding (as needed per job scope)
Qualifications:
Experience:
- Minimum of 2+ years in specialized janitorial service
- OSHA Aerial & Scissor Lift Certification preferred
- OSHA PPE Certification preferred
- Proficiency with floor chemicals, dilution ratios, and the mechanical operation of industrial cleaning tools
- Ability to stand/walk for 8+ hours
- Ability to lift up to 50 lbs. regularly
- Comfort working at heights (ladders & lifts)
- A proactive mindset to identify areas needing deep‑clean attention without constant supervision
Reports To: Special Services Manager
Pay: Starting at $20/hour
Note:
This position may require an adjusted schedule (evenings or weekends) to perform services when the building is at low occupancy to ensure safety & efficiency.
