Our Laundry Workers play a vital role in our skilled nursing facility by ensuring residents always have clean linens, clothing, and towels, directly impacting their comfort and dignity. They support infection control by preventing the spread of germs through proper handling and sanitation of fabrics. They keep daily operations running smoothly so caregivers can focus on resident care, creating a safe, welcoming, and well-maintained environment that feels like home.

- Follow community’s policies and procedures for handling, storing, processing, and transporting linen and residents’ personal laundry.
- Comply with infection control requirements of the laundry and use appropriate personal protective equipment and supplies as necessary.
- Establish and adhere to a laundry schedule to ensure an adequate supply of clean laundry is available in all required areas; assign schedules/duties for laundry team members as appropriate.
- Sort and load laundry as designated.
- Wash linen, clothing and other items and record weights for each load.
- Iron linen and clothing.
- Read labels on personal laundry prior to washing.
- Report any damaged or lost clothing articles to the supervisor; arrange for repairs and/or replacements as necessary.
- Ensure residents’ garments are properly labeled and label items as appropriate.
- Manage inventory of linen supply and report shortages to the supervisor.
- Work full-time day shift 6:30 a.m. – 2:30 p.m., every other weekend and holiday.
- High school diploma or GED equivalent.
- The ability to acquire additional sufficient knowledge and learn new skills through on-the-job training and instructions to satisfactorily meet job performance requirements.
- Minimum of two (2) years of professional laundry experience.
