Position: Maintenance Craftsworker I

Maintenance Craftsworker I

The Community Services Department is looking for a highly energetic and motivated self‑starter to perform a variety of maintenance tasks for the Department's Maintenance Division. This entry‑level position requires a willingness to learn and work under immediate supervision.

  • Operate vehicles and equipment for the Maintenance Division.
  • Perform irrigation repairs, playground equipment repairs, and basic plumbing repairs.
  • Assist with maintenance and burials at the City‑owned cemetery.
  • Conduct street/curb marking, pothole repair, concrete removal and replacement, and street sign maintenance and replacement.
Qualifications
  • One year of experience in construction or maintenance work, including some semi‑skilled assignments.
  • Completion of high school or equivalent.
  • Class C driver’s license with a good driving record.
  • Must attain, within six months of employment, a valid Class B California driver’s license and maintain it in good standing.
  • Highly desirable: prior municipal maintenance experience.
Work Schedule

Full‑time, 38 hours per week. Monday to Friday, 6:30 a.m. – 4:30 p.m. Hours may vary; some evening and holiday hours may be required.
