Distribution Center Office
Location:
Putnam County. Under direct supervision and at a full performance level the workers at the WV Alcohol Beverage Control Administration Distribution Center are responsible for ensuring the alcoholic liquors received from the distilleries and distributors are received, picked, and prepared for delivery to the retail liquor outlets throughout the state. Overtime may be required for this position.
- Perform all work in an expeditious and efficient manner with attention to detail and according to current guidelines and directives.
- Be able to work independently, meet deadlines, interpret and apply procedures based on the task at hand.
- Be able to effectively interact with peers and supervisors in a courteous manner.
- Be responsible for his/her own work within the framework of desired objectives, priorities, and deadlines.
- Have a working knowledge of warehouse operations.
- Stock, maintain, and prepare for distribution of alcoholic liquors maintained by the state for the 182 retail liquor outlets in the state.
- Pull cases of liquor according to a pick sheet, building a pallet of stock to be shipped to a specific retail liquor outlet.
- Use forklifts, hand trucks, motorized hand trucks, pallet jacks, cherry pickers, service carts, etc. to choose, stack, move, and prepare cases of liquor for shipment.
- Build a stable pallet in order to minimize damage to the product.
- Receive inbound product and transition it to the proper storage place in the distribution center, while keeping systematic inventory counts.
- Operate shrink wrap machine in order to stabilize pallets of product for placement on trucks for shipping.
- Perform general maintenance on equipment such as checking fluid levels, ensuring batteries are charged and more.
- Maintain cleanliness of the work area, including rotation of stock as required.
- Have the physical capability to repetitively lift the product as well as sustain the taxing environment of the warehouse while handling the delicate glass cases to prevent breakage and paying attention to ensure accuracy of the order.
- When necessary, perform other duties as assigned.

Training:
High school diploma or the equivalent.
Experience:
One (1) year of full-time or equivalent part-time paid experience in operating forklift, pallet jack or similar equipment and/or experience in a warehouse environment. Special Requirement:
Must have a valid Driver’s License.
