This position is responsible for providing general housekeeping and custodial services for the Facilities and Maintenance Department.

Starting hourly rate: $17.30
Minimum Experience:
Three to sixmonths ofcustodialexperience preferred; or any equivalent combination of education, training, and experience which provides the requisite knowledge, skills, and abilities for this job.
Minimum Education:
High Schooldiplomaorequivalentrequired.
Certifications,Licenses:
- Musthave dependable transportation.
- A pre-employment criminal background check is required.

GENERALPOSITIONDUTIESANDRESPONSIBILITIES:
The following duties are normal for this position.

To perform this job successfully, an individual must be able to perform each duty satisfactorily.
Other duties may also be requiredor assigned.
- Cleanbuildingfloorsbysweeping,mopping,scrubbingorvacuumingthem.
- Gatherandemptytrash.
- Service,clean,andsupplyrestrooms.
- Clean windows,partitions,countertopsandmirrors,usingsoapywateror cleaners, sponges, and squeegees.
- Mixwateranddetergentsoracidsincontainerstopreparecleaningsolutions according to specifications.
- Steamcleanorshampoocarpets.
- Strip,seal,finishandpolishfloors.
- Followproceduresfortheuseofchemicalcleanersandpowerequipment,in order toprevent damage to floors and fixtures.
- Cleans up areas where people have become ill and transfers biohazard material for disposal.
- Performsotherrelateddutiestoensuresafeandsanitarybuildingconditions.

QualificationsJOB QUALIFICATIONS–KNOWLEDGE,SKILLS,AND ABILITIES
LANGUAGE SKILLS
Requires the ability to read a variety of informational documentation, directions, instructions, and methods and procedures related to the job of Custodian.
Requires the ability towritereports with proper format, punctuation,spelling and grammar, using all parts of speech. Requires the ability to speak with and before other with poise, voice control, and confidence using correct English and a well-modulated voice.
MATHEMATICAL SKILLS
Incumbent mustpossessthe ability toutilizewith mathematical formulas; add and subtract totals; multiply and divide; determine percentages; anddeterminetime and weight.
REASONINGABILITY
Incumbent mustpossessthe ability to learn and understand basic principles and techniques; to make independent judgments in absence of supervision; toacquireknowledge of topics related to the job as Custodian.
PHYSICAL DEMANDS
Must be physically able tooperatea variety of machines and tools such as stripping machines, vacuum cleaners, carpetmachineandhigh-speed buffer, etc. Must be physically able to work,moveor carry objects or material. While performing the duties of this job, the incumbent is regularly required tostand, walk, stoop, kneel, crouch, crawl and climb or balance. The incumbentfrequentlyis required touse hands to finger, handle, or feel; reach with hands and arms.
The incumbent must occasionally lift and/or move up to 50 pounds. Specific vision abilities required by this job include close vision, and ability to adjust focus.
WORK ENVIRONMENT
While performing the duties of this job, the incumbent is routinely exposed to outside weather conditions. The noise level in the work environment is usually moderate to loud.
