The Cleaning & Sanitation Associate is responsible for maintaining a clean, safe, organized, and welcoming environment throughout the restaurant and retail location. This position supports both customer-facing and non‑customer-facing areas by ensuring cleanliness standards are consistently maintained in accordance with company expectations, food safety standards, and health department requirements.
The ideal candidate takes pride in cleanliness, works efficiently, pays attention to detail, and contributes positively to the overall customer and team member experience.
General Cleaning Responsibilities- Maintain cleanliness throughout all restaurant and retail areas
- Sweep, mop, and maintain floors throughout the facility
- Clean and sanitize surfaces including counters, tables, shelving, doors, windows, and equipment exteriors
- Ensure cleaning tasks are completed according to company schedules and standards
- Report maintenance or safety concerns to management promptly
- Ensure all customer and employee restrooms remain clean, sanitized, and fully stocked
- Refill restroom supplies including toilet paper, paper towels, soap, and sanitizer
- Clean mirrors, sinks, toilets, partitions, and restroom floors regularly
- Monitor restrooms throughout the day to maintain cleanliness standards
- Empty trash receptacles from customer areas, kitchen areas, offices, storage areas, and employee break areas
- Replace trash liners as needed
- Maintain clean and organized dumpster and waste disposal areas
- Follow company procedures for waste disposal and recycling
- Keep the outside of the building clean and presentable
- Sweep sidewalks, entrances, and outdoor customer areas
- Remove debris, litter, and other waste from parking lot and exterior areas
- Assist with seasonal exterior cleaning responsibilities as needed
- Maintain cleanliness and organization in employee break areas
- Clean tables, chairs, appliances, sinks, and common surfaces in employee areas
- Ensure employee areas remain stocked and sanitary
- Follow all company sanitation procedures and food safety standards
- Properly use cleaning chemicals and supplies according to safety guidelines
- Comply with all health department regulations and company policies
- Wear required personal protective equipment when necessary
- Ability to work independently and efficiently
- Strong attention to detail and organizational skills
- Ability to follow cleaning schedules and procedures
- Ability to safely use cleaning chemicals and equipment
- Reliable attendance and punctuality
- Ability to work in a fast‑paced restaurant and retail environment
- Ability to stand and walk for extended periods of time
- Ability to lift, carry, push, or pull up to 50 pounds
- Frequent bending, reaching, kneeling, and lifting
- Ability to work with cleaning chemicals and cleaning equipment safely
- Retail grocery and restaurant environment
- Exposure to cleaning chemicals, wet floors, and varying temperatures
- Work may include mornings, evenings, weekends, and holidays depending on business needs
- All other tasks as requested
