Silviculture /Forestry Technician (Southern Interior Woodlands - Lumby, BC)
Tolko is seeking an experienced Silviculture Forest Technician – Seasonal or Permanent position based in our Lumby BC office.
ResponsibilitiesUnder the direction of a Staff Supervisor, the Silviculture Forest Technician is responsible for conducting Silviculture Surveys to achieve legal and professional requirements. This is a unionized position, with United Steelworkers Local 1—423, it is governed by terms of the Southern Interior Master Agreement. Compensation range for the Tech 1 – Tech 4 position is $38.71- $42.72/hour, commensurate with experience, education and skill level.

- An unwavering commitment to work safety.
- Physically fit to perform field work at various locations across the Okanagan TSA in all weather conditions.
- Registered member of the FPBC in good standing.
- Preference will be given to candidates with the FPBC Silviculture Accredited Surveyor (SAS) designation or equivalent experience conducting Regen Delay Surveys and Free Growing Declaration Surveys in BC.
- Additional experience with block/road layout and cruising is an asset.
- Proven communication, interpersonal, organizational, and team collaboration skills.
- Hold and maintain a valid driver’s license and experience driving on forestry roads required.
- Experience with the Office 365 (Word, Excel, PowerPoint, etc.), GIS, and other computer applications is an asset.
