Summary

The Senior Maintenance Technician performs various tasks that contribute to the overall maintenance and upkeep of all agency programs and their adjacent grounds and provides support to the Director of Facilities Maintenance.

Essential Duties and Responsibilities

  • Take responsibility for all maintenance & groundskeeping for all properties assigned and provide back up to the Director of Facilities Maintenance ensuring that each assigned property is operating at maximum efficiency and is safe and secure for employees, volunteers, clients, and visitors
  • Perform lawn maintenance as required
  • Strip and wax all floors in all agency programs as directed
  • Use abroad spectrum of skills covering such trades as carpentry, plumbing, roofing, air conditioning, electrical, painting in day-to-day activities
  • Undertake special maintenance projects in all agency programs as directed
  • Help keep facilities in good order by repainting, repairing and/or readying rooms for new admissions while seeing to other maintenance issues in rooms of existing clients
Other Responsibilities
  • Comply with all applicable training requirements
  • Comply with all company safety, personnel and operational policies and procedures
  • Comply with work schedule to ensure effective operations of Agency programs
  • Contributes positively as a member of a productive and cooperative team
  • Performs other duties as necessary to fulfill the St. Vincent de Paul CARES Mission

  • Able to speak, write and understand English
  • Possess basic computer skills

  • Subject to random drug screenings
  • Must possess valid Florida driver’s
  • Must have reliable transportation
  • Participate in Agency Performance Quality Improvement (PQI) program and Accreditation/ Reaccreditation process

  • Over 8 years of experience and training in all areas of general maintenance
  • Able to work independently
  • Have experience working with service vendors; able to formulate a scope of work and elicit bids for service.
  • Ability to operate power equipment
  • Ability to perform calculations and measurements as required for carpentry work
