- Assist with general operational maintenance, repair, and housekeeping of the Community’s physical plant.
- Communicate and coordinate necessary tasks to accomplish repairs and alterations to buildings and equipment systems.
- Perform general maintenance work (light, electrical, painting, carpentry, etc.).
- Demonstrate excellent mechanical skills.
- Operate and maintain HVAC equipment as needed.
- Replenish and maintain supply levels in work areas.
- Ensure tools, work areas, and equipment are clean, in proper working order, and properly stored.
- Maintain the Community environment and all equipment for resident comfort and convenience.
- Consistently and routinely maintain and repair assigned equipment and report hazardous conditions.
- Replace light bulbs, exit lights, room call lights, etc., where needed.
- Conduct daily inspections of buildings, grounds, and equipment to determine necessary maintenance and repairs.
- Help ensure other team members follow established safety practices (OSHA).
- Maintain the general appearance of the building, including assisting with cleaning after events and routine housekeeping.
- Maintain a preventative maintenance log on all mechanical systems.
- Establish and manage a preventative maintenance schedule.
- Maintain an effective work‑order system procedure.
- Participate in in‑service training.
- Maintain confidentiality of all pertinent resident care information.
- Submit weekly invoices and spend‑down reports to the Environmental Services Director.
- Perform other duties as required.
- Maintain a clean and orderly laundry room and store chemicals according to instructions.
- Ensure all safety rules and regulations are followed at all times.
- Perform Resident Emergency Call System checks in resident units when requested.
- Report on‑the‑job injuries to the Environmental Services Director before the end of the work shift.
- Communicate effectively with the Environmental Services Director and other team members.
- High School Diploma.
- Knowledgeable in maintenance and housekeeping policies, procedures, and governing laws and regulations.
- Understanding of proper handling of biohazardous waste.
- Competency in duties through sound judgment and reporting of unusual problems to the Environmental Services Director.
- Valid Driver’s License, preferably a Commercial Driver’s License.
- Able to read, comprehend, and write simple correspondence.
- Basic computer familiarity.
- Effective presentation skills in one‑on‑one and small group settings.
- Physical ability to bend, reach, push, pull, and lift up to 60 pounds if necessary.
- Physical ability to stand for extended periods of time.
