Job Summary/Overview
The SCA Pool Technician is responsible for oversight of the SCA pools, spa, and water features. The Pool Technician is a "hands‑on" visible position and must exhibit excellent customer service skills to members of the community, the public and other employees. Personal contact occurs with residents, and other departments within the company, including consultants, contractors, and vendors. This position is responsible for completing their duties in a safe and efficient manner.
This is a highly visible position requiring the utmost awareness of how actions and communications are perceived. Need to have the ability to communicate in a courteous and professional manner.
The schedule for this position is Friday through Tuesday from 6:30am to 3:00pm with Wednesday and Thursday off. Weekends are required. Schedule is subject to change.
Essential Duties and ResponsibilitiesThe following statements describe the principal functions of this position and the scope of responsibility but should not be considered an all‑inclusive listing of work requirements. - Daily inspection of all pools, spas, and water feature equipment and maintain their operation.
- Reports any observed threats to the safety of the buildings and amenities from fire, flood, and other hazards.
- Reports "Requests for Repairs" to the SCA Facilities Manager.
- Performs the routine checking of all resident .
- Cleans and maintains all pools, spas, and water features.
- Performs testing of water quality and adjusts chemical levels as needed following proper guidelines.
- Cleans and maintains all pool deck furniture, fencing, and other pool equipment on a regular basis.
- Cleans and maintains pool deck areas.
- Makes or coordinates necessary repairs to equipment.
- Maintain cleaning supplies and equipment inventory for the pools, spa, and water features. Orders from identified supplier as needed.
- Maintains the SDS station and is directly responsible for proper container labeling throughout the facilities.
- Monitors the ADA Lifts to ensure proper operating condition including all safety features. Performs weekly preventative maintenance of the battery cycle and weekly cleaning.
- Assist with the cleaning and maintenance of recreational facilities when needed.
- Maintain accurate records as required.
- Performs other duties, as necessary.
- Responsible for compliance with company policies and directives.
- Professional manner, discretion, and appearance are expected.
- Reports any incident or accident immediately to their supervisor.
- Well organized, ability to multi‑task, efficient.
- Punctuality and Attendance are significant job reliabilities.
- Maintain clean and orderly work environment.
The working conditions described are typical of those an employee encounters while performing the essential functions of the job.
- Exposure to heights, heat, cold, other weather conditions, various living environments and foliage.

- Must wear protective clothing when required.
Work is performed indoors and outdoors. The employee will be required to reach with hands and arms, climb or balance, stoop, kneel, crouch, crawl, and differentiate smells; will regularly be required to sit, stand and walk. Vision requirements are close, distance, color, peripheral vision, depth perception, and the ability to adjust focus. Tasks may be performed while exposed to extreme heat and humidity.
Must be flexible; schedules may be rearranged to meet deadlines, attend meetings and community activities or to cover open shifts. Position requires the ability to work independently and within a team environment. Willingness to assist team members when requested. The typical noise level is quiet to very loud.
