Job Overview

Forsyth County has a great opportunity to work at Tanglewood Park. The Parks and Recreation Department is seeking a motivated employee to fill an open part‑time, year‑round Custodian position. The employee must be a self‑starter and able to work independently and with others.

• Assist with the set up, clean up, and dismantling of events at the Red Barn, Walnut Hall, and the Clubhouse.
• Keep all assigned offices, restrooms, common areas, kitchens, and meeting rooms neat and orderly.
• Provide well‑cleaned, orderly, organized, and safe offices, public restrooms, event facilities, and common areas for all park guests and employees.
• Perform normal custodial work such as sweeping, mopping, vacuuming, dusting, and cleaning restrooms.
• Set up tables and chairs in event facilities, remove trash or litter, and perform some office cleaning duties.
• Assist with maintaining public picnic shelters, cleaning public restrooms, replenishing public restroom supplies, and trash removal in indoor and outdoor event areas.

April‑October:
Friday‑Monday 6:00 am – 12:00 pm
November‑March:
Friday‑Monday 7:00 am – 1:00 pm
Must be able to work weekends and holidays.

Vacation and sick leave, paid holidays, retirement, and 401(k) contributions.

• Working knowledge of cleaning materials and equipment used in custodial work.
• Ability to operate custodial equipment such as vacuum cleaners, carpet sweepers, and speed‑buffing machines.
• Ability to follow cleaning schedules and routines for periodic cleaning of all facilities.
• Ability to observe and report needs for supplies in a timely manner.
• Ability to maintain effective working relationships with other employees.
• Great customer service skills and ability to communicate well with the public.
• Ability to follow written and oral instructions.
• Six months previous custodial experience preferred.
• Must possess a valid driver's license.
