Starting Pay: $17.00 per hour plus additional shift differential for evenings, nights and weekends.

Schedule

Saturday, Sunday, Monday, Tuesday, and Wednesday, including holidays until the job is complete. Typical hours: 10:00 pm to 6:00 am or until the job is complete. Work schedule is subject to change based upon production needs.

Position Summary
  • Responsible for the sanitation/cleaning of the hatchery: sanitizing hatchers, setters, trays, racks, buggies, and all other hatchery equipment.
Essential Duties And Responsibilities
  • Clean and sanitize hatchers and setters (50%).
  • Clean and sanitize all hatchery equipment, Tray Wash, Pull Room, Chick Room and Chick Holding Room using a high pressure and regular water hose (30%).
  • Monitor and record temperatures in the hatchers and setters (5%).
  • Maintain foot pans and hand sanitizers; operate macerator; operate tray washer; tray, and set eggs; pull chicks; operate chick counter; change filters; set up Sexor counters; pack, or unpack eggs; pad chick boxes; help drivers with the loading and unloading of egg/chick trucks; go through birds; and maintain a clean an organized work area (15%).
Biosecurity and Animal Welfare Requirements
  • The jobsite is a biosecure environment requiring showering, changing clothing and footwear before entering the facility. The Company provides appropriate clothing and footwear. No jewelry except medical  covered body piercings. Must sign an agreement to avoid avian species and abide by the Company Biosecurity and Animal Welfare Guidelines.
Physical Demands and Work Environment

Must use safe lifting techniques. Must be able to lift/move 50 lbs. and push/pull 500‑1000 lbs. Overhead lifting is required. Required to work on wet and slippery surfaces each day. The employee is regularly required to stand majority of shift on concrete floor, walk, sit, use hands to handle objects, tools, or controls, reach with hands and arms, balance, stoop, bend, talk or hear.

Vision abilities include close, distance, color, peripheral, depth perception and the ability to adjust focus.

Tools and equipment used: high pressure hose. Environment: wet, slippery surfaces and in hot, dry, dusty, wet, and cold environments.

Personal Protective Equipment

Required:

Safety glasses, safety goggles, face shield, chemical gloves, waterproof apron, and rubber boots; ear plugs and earmuffs as needed.

Chemicals used:
Formaldehyde, disinfectant, lubricants, and Virocid.

Safety:
Team Member expected to follow all applicable safety policies and procedures, including Hazard Communication, Respiratory Protection, Lockout/Tagout, and personal protective equipment. Team Member expected to identify, address, and mitigate safety-related risks.

Requirements

Applicants must reside in the United States. Must have at least 12 months of consecutive work history with one employer and no additional job gaps in employment greater than 6 months in the past 36 months. Employment gaps due to layoff, child or elder care may be increased to 18 months. Full‑time student status in the last 36 months does not count.

Rehire criteria: minimum waiting period of 180 days. Rehire rule: no more than 3 times worked at Cobb/Tyson Foods.
