This position is responsible for all aspects of location maintenance coordination, including leading and directing maintenance technicians. The role focuses on fostering a well‑trained and motivated maintenance team while assisting the Maintenance Manager in directing and coordinating maintenance policies and procedures. This position ensures a safe, clean environment and oversees preventive maintenance and equipment repairs. The successful candidate will quickly assess maintenance issues to minimize production downtime and must have working knowledge of SQF Quality Management policies and procedures, as well as Good Manufacturing Practices (GMP), to ensure all maintenance employees comply with company standards.
- Lead, direct, evaluate, and train a team of approximately 15 maintenance technicians
- Promote and maintain a strong “Safety First” culture among maintenance staff
- Manage and oversee preventive maintenance programs for plant and equipment
- Measure, monitor, and reduce equipment and machine downtime
- Diagnose basic electrical, mechanical, pneumatic, plumbing, and electronic (PLC) issues and direct or assist with repairs
- Maintain a safe, clean, and compliant work environment
- Support the Maintenance Manager in implementing and enforcing maintenance policies and procedures
- Associate degree or college program certificate; or Five (5) or more years of related experience and training; or An equivalent combination of education and experience in a food manufacturing environment
- Minimum of five (5) years of experience as a maintenance lead or supervisor with direct reports
- Proven experience directing, evaluating, and training maintenance technicians

- Some weekend work required
- Showering before entering the facility and potentially multiple times during the workday
- Wearing company‑provided clothing and footwear
- No jewelry permitted on the jobsite, except for medical
- Willingness to sign an agreement to avoid contact with all avian species (e.g., chickens, ducks, birds)
