Installation Technician, Maintenance Technician / Mechanic
A Bench Technician is considered an in-house service/repair technician. The Bench Technician performs in-house servicing and repair of company products at an established company repair site or service center. The equipment varies from communication hardware to lottery point of sale and vending equipment.
- Diagnose and repair mechanical, hardware, software, and systems failures.
- Perform maintenance, testing and calibration of repaired products, as well as inventory tracking.
- General warehouse duties, including inventory, shipping, and forklift operation, may also be a portion of the work.
- Oral and written communication, as well as hands-on work with field-based technicians for details regarding diagnostics or repairs.
- Assist in development and implementation of departmental policies and procedures.
- Assist in the training of new and existing team members.
- Assist with the creation of presentations/reports regarding bench and equipment activities, issues, and performance.
- Some travel to customer locations for on-site work is possible.
- Performs these functions and all other duties as assigned.
Must have a high school diploma or equivalency.
Qualifications / Skills / Knowledge- An understanding of, and experience with, troubleshooting computer software and hardware technologies.
- Excellent interpersonal, verbal, and written communications skills.
- Promptly respond to customer/leadership requests and feedback.
- Proven self-starter with motivation and ability.
- Organization and time management skills that enable effective multitasking.
- Strong judgement and problem-solving skills to determine most cost-effective repair/resolution.
- Available to work overtime as needed.
- Ability to lift, install and move large self-service equipment (regularly lift or move 35 pounds or more).
- Able to travel overnight if needed.
- Ability to drive a non-CDL delivery truck.
- Pass background check, drug test, DOT certification, and have a clean driving record.
