Maintenance Technician

The maintenance and reliability engineering team is fundamental to our operations, ensuring that our technical systems and facilities function continuously. As a maintenance technician, you will be responsible for the maintenance and upkeep of our technical and production facilities. You will help ensure the highest safety standards in occupational health and prevent machine downtimes. Our technical team ensures high availability of technical facilities and improves the quality of our equipment.

You will work in a four-day workweek with nine-hour shifts in the night shift. Your workweek is structured as follows:

• Thursday night to Friday night and Friday night to Saturday night:
  Part of the RME team ensuring the smooth operation of the facilities during production times. You will work rotating shifts with colleagues who are on a three-shift rotation from Monday to Saturday.
• Saturday night to Sunday night and Sunday night to Monday morning:
  Carrying out repairs and maintenance measures on our facilities to prepare them optimally for the upcoming operational week. You will work with your fixed team of nine technicians and a team leader.

Key job responsibilities:

• Execution of preventive maintenance measures on a wide variety of equipment at our locations
• Carrying out repairs and fault diagnostics
• Use of the latest tools to maximize equipment effectiveness
• Compliance with all occupational safety guidelines and practices
• Supporting the development and professional advancement of trainees at the location
• Working on projects for continuous improvement and the introduction of best practices at various EU locations

A day in the life:

As a maintenance technician in the night shift, you will be based at our logistics center in Dortmund (DTM2). Your four-day workweek (Thursday night to Monday morning, each 9-hour shift) is divided into two main areas:

• In the first half of your workweek (Thursday night to Saturday morning) you will support the operational team directly – you will respond quickly to technical disruptions during ongoing operations, carry out fault diagnostics, and ensure that the facilities run smoothly.
• In the second half (Saturday night to Monday morning) your focus will be on planned repairs and maintenance measures. You will use the production-free time to carry out fundamental maintenance on the facilities, replace wear parts, and implement improvements – so that everything is ready for the new week.
• In collaboration with senior colleagues, you will carry out maintenance tasks and communicate with service providers if you need external expertise.
