Remote Operations Control Center Control Board Operator (Open)
Location:
Independence, OH
Salary: $38/hr & Up DOE
Schedule:
7 days on / 7 days off, 12 hour shift
Travel: < 10% Travel, based on Business Need
Essential Duties and Accountabilities Remote Process Control & Optimization- Systems Monitoring: Remotely monitors and maintains safe operation using DCS (Delta-V, Allen Bradley, etc.), HMI, and PLC systems.
- Operational Efficiency: Executes process engineer recommendations to adjust operating modes, using energy optimization principles.
- Supply Management: Collaborates with logistics teams to manage short-term supply and inventory.
- Crisis Management: Safely executes emergency protocols during plant upsets or equipment failures.
- Advanced Troubleshooting: Diagnoses and resolves plant alerts, alarms, and malfunctions related to mechanical, instrumentation, and electrical devices.
- Engineering Liaison: Works closely with engineering personnel to resolve ongoing plant challenges.
- Logbook & Documentation: Maintains documentation of incidents and communications in the electronic logbook and case management systems.
- On‑Site Coverage: Provides on‑site support for plant startups, local technician training, and leave coverage.
- Regulatory Compliance: Ensures 100% compliance with OSHA, EPA, DHS, and cGMP.
- Continuous Improvement: Assists with safety incident investigations and updates SOPs as directed.
- Education and Experience: High school diploma/GED with 5+ years experience operating a control board in an industrial plant.
- Technical Training: Two-year technical college degree or military technical experience preferred.
- Specialized Knowledge: Experience with DCS/SCADA/HMI/PLC interfaces and background in Electrical or Instrumentation (E&I) troubleshooting; ability to interpret schematics and control logic.
- Industry Background: Air Separation or cryogenic plant experience highly preferred.
- Critical Thinking: Works independently to diagnose complex malfunctions and make high‑stakes decisions under pressure.
- Communication: Strong verbal and written skills for collaborating with technicians, management, and stakeholders.
- Adaptability: Innovative attitude toward problem‑solving in a changing environment.
- Digital Literacy: Proficiency in Google Workspace and digital maintenance management systems.
Physical Requirements
- Schedule: Rotating days/nights 24/7 shift‑based schedule, including weekends and holidays.
- Travel: Low travel (< 10%) for routine tasks; must be available for multi‑week on‑site assignments.
- Attention: Continuous mental and visual attention to multiple plant screens.
- License: Valid driver’s license required.
