AIRPORT FIELD UNIT LEADER – BUILDING Examination
Salary$33.44 - $37.79 per hour
Job Duties- Supervise maintenance and repair work on airport equipment, facilities, and buildings.
- Assist with assignment of work.
- Order equipment and supplies.
- Manage work orders for appropriate sections.
- Supervise maintenance workers who provide labor for maintenance operations for summer and winter tasks on runways, taxiways, ramps, and airport-owned facilities.
- Monitor and inspect crews, job sites, and daily work assignments.
- Assign work tasks and complete Alternative and Online Dispute Resolutions.
- Communicate with Control Tower.
- Operate computers utilizing standard and customized software packages.
- Oversee work with HVAC systems, including hot water boiler operations, air handles, rooftop AC and HV units, and work on sanitary pump station.
- Supervise and perform work with shop floor equipment such as metal brake, band saw, metal shear, etc.
- Work with all hand and power tools used in the maintenance field.
- Interpret mechanical blueprints and plumbing isometric drawings.
- Perform other job-related duties as assigned.
- Valid High School Diploma or GED.
- Valid State of Ohio Class “B” Commercial Driver’s License.
- One year of supervisory experience and experience with work‑order management system (WEBTMA) (preferred).
- Successfully complete a TSA 10‑year fingerprint-based Criminal History Records Check, employment background check, and Security Threat Assessment.
- Able to lift and carry 60 pounds.
- Able to work any shift assignment and overtime during the snow season.
- Preferred:
Two years of commercial maintenance experience and two years of commercial HVAC mechanical maintenance experience.
- Veterans’ preference awarded when applicable to eligible veterans.
- Proof of active service or DD Form 214 must be presented at the time of filing application.
- Honorable or general discharge under honorable conditions results in additional five points.
- Service‑connected disability >15% results in additional ten points.
- Only DD Form 214 (long form) or an official armed service document accepted as proof.
