Maintenance TechnicianThe Maintenance Technician performs scheduled and unplanned plant process maintenance and repairs at a Chemical Manufacturing Plant in Cleveland, OH. Responds to unscheduled maintenance issues as required. Maintains parts inventories, submits purchase requisitions, and maintains equipment files. Communicates job status as appropriate to operators, management, and other maintenance personnel.
Skills and Qualifications- Troubleshoots, plans, modifies, and repairs/rebuilds all types of plant equipment
- Performs basic electrical troubleshooting, repair, and construction, as required
- Tests new or repaired equipment to ensure satisfactory performance
- Modifies/fabricates as required, using various machines and tools
- Keeps equipment, maintenance shop, and job sites in a clean and orderly condition
- Works in accordance with OSHA and GM Industrial safety policies and procedures
- Works from ladders, lifts, elevated places, as required
- Documents work completed; reports job outcome/supplies
- Details job status as appropriate to operators, management, and other maintenance personnel
- Submits requisitions for repair/replacement parts, as necessary
- Maintains parts inventory and equipment files
- Lifts up to 50 lbs., as required. Heavier parts/materials will be handled using other lifting equipment
- Works with solvents, degreasers, lubricants, and other common industrial chemicals
- Works with minimal supervision
- Research equipment/facility needs, as appropriate.
- Regular hours/shifts may vary as production and maintenance coverage needs dictate
- Must develop thorough knowledge of all plant equipment, machinery, and processes
- Must be available to lock up the building at the end of the working day.
- Performs other job duties, as assigned
- Maintenance knowledge – sufficient formal and informal training to perform job duties.
- Strong organizational skills and attention to detail, with the ability to multitask and prioritize tasks effectively.
- Any combination of general maintenance, building maintenance, equipment maintenance, automotive maintenance, construction, plumbing, electrical, and miliary experience is sufficient.
- Experience with formalized safety programs, such as Lock Out/Tag Out, Confined Space, OSHA Awareness, Technical School Courses and/or Ladder Safety.
- Ability to work independently with minimal supervision and as part of a team.

This is a full-time, on-site, Monday through Friday, 8:30AM to 5:00PM.
