Summary:

Performs manual work performing housekeeping/custodial work in the care, cleaning, and general maintenance for all Cleveland County departments and buildings. Shift will be identified by Maintenance Director and Housekeeping Supervisor based on departmental needs.

• Maintaining lobbies, waiting rooms, offices in a sanitary condition; sweeps, mops, wipes down chairs, tables, cleans glass, dust and vacuums.
• Maintaining bathrooms in a sanitary condition; refilling tissue, towels and soap dispenser, un-stopping commodes or sinks.
• Moving desks or other office furniture, and file cabinets with assistance from other housekeeping/maintenance staff as needed.

• High school diploma or GED and one (1) year of experience working as a custodian, housekeeper, or building cleaning work.

• Working knowledge of cleaning methods, materials and equipment
• Ability to identify cleaning needs and address with appropriate methods and supplies.
• Ability to perform manual labor requiring continuous physical effort.
• Ability to understand and follow oral and written instructions.
• Ability to observe and report needs for maintenance and supplies.
• Ability to deal courteously with the staff.
• Ability to establish and maintain an effective working relationship with supervisor and other employees.

This role must work from the location identified at the time of hire with work travel required as needed. Any change of work location, even on a short-term or interim basis, must be reviewed by the Supervisor and HR for approval.
